I sent both Bob and Baxter to college. While they were there, I flipped a coin and decided that Baxter would be the heir. This left Bob (the spare) free for me to goof around with. I decided to make Bob a vampire.
Vampires were added to The Sims 2 with the expansion pack Nightlife. After you install this expansion pack, two new NPCs (the Count and the Contessa) will appear in your Downtown lots at night. The vampires can also be identified by their two stereotyped behaviors:
1. "Stalking." A "stalking" vampire walks around with their arm over their face, in the classic Noseferatu pose.
You can have your own vampire Stalk somewhere by clicking the destination, and choosing "Stalk here."
2. "Bleh." The vampire will strike a pose, with hands raised in a claw-like fashion, make a face, and say "Bleh!" (The vampire kind of "bleh," not the apathetic dismissive kind of "bleh.")
Once you are playing a vampire, you will find "Bleh!" under the "Irritate…" menu. Simply click on another Sim, then choose Irritate -> Bleh! If you do it right, the target Sim will be frightened so badly that they lose control of their bladder. Bob was never able to frighten anyone that badly, although he did try.
In order for your character to become a vampire, your Sim must be bitten by a vampire.
If you befriend a vampire, once your friendship level gets above 50, you have several options:
1. "Influence to… bite neck… [choose nearby Sim]" If you have enough influence points, your Sim can influence the vampire to bite someone else.
2. Wait to be bitten. If you befriend a vampire past 50, and stand around waiting long enough, they will get hungry and try to bite you.
You can also create a Sim with "vampirism" as a turn-on, then call the Gypsy Matchmaker for a date. She will pair your Sim up with a vampire (probably). Just spin through the date and wait to be bitten.
You can also woo a vampire, and ask them to move in with you, then wait for nature to take its course. As a bonus, vampires are rich, and their funds will be added to your household.
Personally I did not have the patience to try either of these methods. I had Baxter befriend the Count, then influence the Count to bite Bob (my intended target).
You can also turn one of your Sims into a vampire through the debug cheat mode. To enter debug cheat mode, first press CTRL + Shift + C and type:
boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true
Now that you have enabled cheats, simply Shift + click on the Sim you want to vampirify. Click on "More…" then select "Make Vampire."
I haven't heard any reports, but I wonder if you can be bitten by a vampire "accidentally." While playing Downtown lots, I did once see the Count bite a random NPC Sim. NPCs do have friendship relationships with other NPCs, but I still had to wonder. Just to be on the safe side, I have my Sims avoid vampires when they are out on the town at night.
