As you play the Sims Social Facebook game, you encounter situations where, for one reason or another, you need to ask people to give you stuff. Maybe it's part of a quest chain, or maybe you need some Relaxation so that you can finish building that couch. Maybe you need four Pens so that you can level up in the Writing skill. You can't play the game for very long before you encounter one of these situations.
Type 1: The Targeted Request
This is the most common way the game makes you ask for things. When you click on "Ask friends" it takes you to a list of all of your Facebook friends. You can then click to select which of your friends you are going to pester with your request. (PROTIP: stick to just pestering your Sims Social friends!)
There are three good things about this type of request: they don't bug your non-Sims Facebook friends, you can easily target just your sock puppet account, AND your sock puppet can fulfill as many of these requests as you need (although it will take a while).
Let's say you need four Pens. You can send one Pen request to your sock puppet account every 24 hours. Your sock puppet account can click to give you all four Pens… but it will take a total of 4 days. Assuming you stay on top of the "request/log out/click to send a Pen" cycle.
Type 2: The Mass Blast
This is something I see more often with build objects, the end of
quest chains, and high-level skill unlocks. In other words, high-value items. With this type of request, you have to post a generic "Click here to send me a Pen" update to your Facebook feed. And you have to trust that your Sims Social friends are going to bother to check your feed in order to see it.
(This is a good time to remind you to always check YOUR Sims Social friends' feeds in order to help them out!)
Each account can only click on that request once, meaning that your sock puppet is only good for one Pen.
In order to keep from annoying your other Facebook friends, I recommend setting up a list just for your Sims Social friends. If you do this, then you will have the option to make this notification ONLY visible to those people, and not to everyone.
