Expansion Pack

It's Laundry Day!

Laundry Day stuff pack launches January 16th

EA has published the official Laundry Day Stuff Pack trailer, and it looks intriguing. In The Sims 3, your Sims could get a buff from wearing clean clothes, and that seems to hold true in Sims 4 as well. But it also seems as if other Sims will be able to tell if your Sim is wearing dirty clothes, and they will have negative interactions as a result. ("Dude, you're rank!")

Learn more about running a vet clinic in Sims 4 Cats & Dogs

Treat the cutest residents of your town!

In what Associate Producer Grant Rodiek calls "arguably our best business venue yet," The Sims 4 expansion Cats & Dogs will let your Sims open a vet clinic and work as the local town veterinarian.

The business will function much like other venues: you design the clinic, hire staff, manage their behavior and outfits, fire them or give them raises, etc.

You won't be able to directly control your pet in Sims 4 Dogs & Cats

Interesting development...

One problem with continually remaking the same content is that people will naturally compare it to the previous versions. In The Sims 2, you could not control your pets - you could only click on them and tell them to do things. In The Sims 3, you could control your pets - you could play them just as you would a regular Sim.

The next expansion pack: Into the Future

We only have one more expansion pack to be released before The Sims 3 is scuttled in favor of Sims 4. Therefore, prepare yourself: EA is going to be pushing hard to sell this one, even harder than they have for previous expansions. It's hard to convince people to drop $40 on an expansion pack when a whole new version of the game will be out six months later for $60, but darned if EA isn't going to try.
